Omschrijving:
In de lente komt de ooievaar terug van zijn winterstek.
De zon wordt langzaam warmer en terwijl een pas geboren
baby’tje bewaakt wordt in zijn eiermandje, beschermt de ooievaar ,
met zijn imposante vleugels, het baby’tje tegen de felle zonnestralen.

Kohitsuji no Yousei

Kohitsuji no Yousei (= vanuit het Japans: lammetjes elf)
Thema: Izumi Sakura (= lente – kersenbloesem)
Type: buste/pop
Materiaalgebruik: super sculpey en living doll, acryl ogen,
acrylverf, blush powder, mensenhaar
Grootte: hoogte= 20cm, breedte= 10cm
Gemaakt: januari 2009

Korte toelichting:
~ Lammetje, elf, kersenbloesem ~
Inspiratie: Fantasy, Japanse achtergrond (moeder half Japans),
dochtertje Julia Joan Hope van 2,5 jaar oud - en mijn oudste zus Joan,
kunstenares met wie ik mijn passie en mijn liefde voor sprookjes deelde.
(Joan overleed plotseling oktober 2005)

VERONIQUE JACQUELIN - 3e plaats - 3rd place

Narcissia

From Véronique Jacquelin

Size: 28,5 cm
Material: Modeled polymer clay, cardboard, paper, mirror,
laser cut metal flowers and moveable digital photo frame.

This character is a contemporary and feminized interpretation
of the Narcissius mythe.

I wanted to do a classical and stylized face,
like the renaissance portrait.

I kept the antique reflexion symbol but I formulated it with the mirror
and the digital photo frame in her belly.
In this frame there are pieces, details, of herself.

For me she's the representation of the modern woman,
fragile and strong, like a « spring flower »,
who built her bit by bit but with the risk to lose her in her own reflexion...
